On a comp roof, does the endwall flashing get slammed all the way down to the deck?
Yes, for maximum sealing
No, it floats over the ridge
No — it sits up about ¼”, high enough for two shingles to slide underneath without fighting
Only on metal roofs
Question #2:
How far should flashing extend past the wall line to properly do an outside corner?
3 inches
6 inches past the wall line — on both sides if it’s a smaller wall and one piece of metal can reach
1 inch

After making your relief cut on an inside corner, does the metal bend down over or behind itself?
Folded under and sealed
It laps itself from top to bottom
